Building small satellites on the tip of Africa. My other ride is a CubeSat.

Currently working for AAC Space Africa as a Senior Space Systems Software Engineer in Cape Town, South Africa.

Studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering and completed my master’s degree with Satellite Systems Engineering course work. I worked on the ZACUBE-1 (2013) and ZACube-2 (2018) missions for CPUT from concept to operations (including the launch campaign). I worked on the MDASat-1 mission launched in early 2022. The mission consists of a constellation of three 2U CubeSats launched on the SpaceX Transporter 3 mission. I was deeply involved in embedded and other software development, testing and integration of the various software systems that we use. I was responsible for ground station and satellite operations including launch and early operations.

Other interests include Systems and Systems of Systems; Wireless sensor networks and Software Defined Radio. I am a licensed radio amateur.

I have written programs in C, Python, Lua and started learning Rust.
